Matthew Benns is Editor-at-Large at The Daily Telegraph. He is a career journalist from Fleet Street to Sydney and has covered stories all over the world, tracking tigers in the Russian Far East to finding Elvis Presley's first girlfriend in Biloxi, Mississippi. He has written a number of best selling non-fiction books including The Men Who Killed Qantas; Kathleen Folbigg - Australia's Worst Female Serial Killer; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Mistress; Dirty Money and Fixed.

The Calabrian is Matthew's first novel. His second is based on his regular column in the The Daily TelegraphWe Are All in This Together – and is called The Dying Diplomats Club.
